The water inflow of explosion-proof control box is mostly caused by rainstorm. In a humid environment, electrical appliances and pipelines will breathe due to thermal expansion and contraction. By analyzing the causes of water ingress into the explosion-proof control box, measures to prevent water ingress are identified.
Some explosion-proof control boxes do not have sealing rings and are prone to water ingress. The failure of sealing surfaces, fastening bolts, and sealing rings is also the main cause of water leakage.
1. The sealing surface of the explosion-proof control box installed horizontally should not use sunken bolt holes. The bolt holes should be filled with grease or other materials. Prevent water from seeping into the bolt holes.
2. Applying phosphating paste or rust proof oil on the explosion-proof surface can reduce the damage of rust to the explosion-proof surface and improve the waterproof performance of the waterproof layer.
3. The maintenance of explosion-proof control boxes is very strict. In order to prevent unnecessary repairs caused by bolt breakage on the explosion-proof control box shell, the explosion-proof control box shell should use through holes as much as possible, reduce threaded holes, and facilitate the cleaning of foreign objects and debris.
4. The sealing gasket should be intact and elastic, and should be placed correctly during installation. Sealing rings with joints should not be used.
5. The fastening of the shell bolts should be uniform, and users should carefully follow it during installation, especially when using stainless steel bolts. Stainless steel bolts are beautiful and not easy to rust, but they have low hardness and are prone to deformation, which cannot reach the corresponding torque, resulting in excessive clearance between the explosion-proof surfaces and failure to achieve explosion-proof performance.
